World of Daris

Dari has been an integral part of our cultural which modernized itself to be called Rugs. Dari is a hand woven flat rug often used in Indian homes. The origin of dari can be dated back to the Mugal regime in India. Daris were then used by the Royals and the commoners equally. The commoners used dari made of organic fabric such as cotton and wool, whereas the Royal daris had ornamentation of gold and silver on them to match the royal luxuries. Daris were used as floor mats, beddings and even as wall art back in the time. In many parts of India it is still considered auspicious to gift a dari to a newly wed bride. Daris were the sublime way of including royal trend in daily life of a commoner. It quickly became popular due to the multiple ways in which it served its owner.
